- Patients are usually referred to our service via doctors, specialists or other allied health professionals.
- We provide inpatient (hospital) and outpatient (clinic) treatment.
- Patients are assessed by one of our Orthotists who will discuss with the patient the various orthotic options taking into account the referral requests.
- Once a prescription has been made the orthosis will be fitted, usually at the same appointment for prefabricated orthoses and approx one or two weeks later for most custom made devices which require moulds or measurements to begin fabrication.
- Patient reviews will be arranged as required in each case and any adjustments or modifications will be made when necessary. Reviews within the first three months do not incur any charge.
|
- At the time of fitting it will be ensured that the orthosis is fitting and functioning at its optimum. The patient and or carer will be educated on the correct fitting and use of the device in accordance with the original referral.
